It has been many moons....

While I would love to occupy my time with writing stories containing the wonderful Neal McD it seems that my school has other plans. Instead of doing what I love I find myself writing and editing an endless mess of essays. No worries, however, on June 26th all of this will be over and I will find myself free from the grips of the immature academic world.

In addition to the nonsense of awkward speeches, I have to deal with sucky people wanting me to go to college. Apparently it's wrong to pressure people OUT of college, but pressuring them INTO college is not a problem. (*GO FIGURE!!*) While the effort is appreciated, I wish that people would simply respect the decision. I don't want to go. There is no string pulling behind it, there's is no crave for attention nor any loss of priority and in this decision I am completely levelheaded. But the pressure will only be on for one more week. My hopes are that I can last that long.

Senior blues/senioritis whatever you want to call it, it's kicked in. Class sucks. School needs to end like yesterday. We know (In fact teachers...) know who won't be walking down that aisle. What's with the torture? Can we just get this crap over with? (I blame Josh for making me so dramatic about everything!! And SW for putting the passion behind it!!!)

To the Boss and Z!- sorry for the antisocialness that has taken over. I'll be back

Okay, this is going to sound really strange but it would be the TV. My family is half deaf and insist on blasting the damn thing all the time, no matter what. On top of blasting it they have the nerve to talk over the loud tv while the show is going on. So I gave up on watching tv and have come to abhor the thing. :-/

More Than Just A Favortie Song....(Progress??)

Okay...My second one. That's two in one night, that's progress right? Now if only I can get an idea, I let the Boss borrow the bunnies and I never got them back *pouts* (it's all good, just take care of 'em, for my sake)

Another one. Again I don’t own I just get ideas with their characters. J

“When I see your smile the tears run down my face I can’t replace. And now that I’m strong I have figured out how this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul and I know I’ll find deep inside me I can be the one…” She fixed the edges of her bed, tucking them in and smoothing them out.

“Are you singing?” DG’s eyes went wide and she whipped around to face him.

“How long have you been standing there?” His face formed a smile, the rare kind that made his face bright and his eyes shiny.

“Long enough to hear you sing that song that you’re always playing.” DG had made sure to go back to Kansas and get some of her things including her much loved music and radio. She blushed a little at his statement. It was typical of her to catch Cain doing something embarrassing, but never the other way around.

“I love that song, it’s my favorite.” she spoke in her own defense.

“I know…” He responded, “I’ve just never heard you actually sing it.”

“Ok, so now that you’ve caught me, what do you think?”

“You do the song justice,” he shrugged slightly, doubting his own statement and DG hurled a pillow in his direction. It whizzed by his head as he ducked to avoid it. Once it hit the floor, Cain went after it and threw it back at DG squaring her right in the stomach.
“CAIN!!” She yelled and he took off down the hallway, knowing she’d be on his heels in no time.

Cain opened the Princess’ door. No knocking was needed, no special request for entry. The door was always open to him, always. Inside DG sat on her bed, face in her hands, tears dripping between her fingers, her song blaring out of the nearby radio. It had been one of the days where the occupation of ‘Princess’ was simply too much for her to bear. Times like these were coming less and less frequently. However, there were always those days where holding it all together was just beyond her grasp. Cain knew this all to well and always made sure he was never to far off.

He took it upon himself to hit the pause button (it took him a while, but he learned to work the buttons). The silence of the room let him hear her muffled cries. He took her by the sides, made her stand and moved her away from the bed. One hand rested now rest on her waist, the other in her hand. Pulling her in close, he began to sway slowly. The next move he pulled took DG by surprise.
Lowering his head, he took a small breath next to her ear and sang,

“Seasons are changing and waves are crashing and stars are falling all for us. Days grow longer and nights grow shorter. I can show you I’ll be the one. I will never let you fall, I’ll stand up with you forever. I’ll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven.”

Tin Man: Human (My First Tin Man Posting)

Okay, so this isn't my first story but it's my first on LJ. Go easy on me...plz

I think this one should go out to the Boss, simply cause she's still puttiing up with me like 12 ,000 years later.

The end of the service meant the crowds would disperse. Family, friends, all who knew him, filed away from the casket. All but one.

Cain stood over the casket of the man that had given him a chance at life. Most people knew the Mystic Man to be an endless flow of wisdom. While Cain shared this idea, he knew something that most of the public didn’t. He was much more then a mind stuffed with wise words, the Mystic Man was human.

“Wyatt Cain. I hear from my neighbors that you are trouble. Some say your speech is disrespectful, others say your silence is. I thought it best to judge for myself that is why you’re here.”

A teenage Cain looked at the man with a stone stare. Silence had always been his signature, speaking was rare. When it did occur the words were sharp and bitter. It was what bought him to the Mystic Man’s house in the first place.

“No answer?” The older man looked at him with amusement.

“You didn’t ask a question.” Cain barely allowed his lips to move as he spoke.

“Ah, very smart. I can see why so many people are against your presence, Wyatt. You have a rare, yet hindering talent.” Cain cocked his head and raised an eyebrow.

“Yes. You, Wyatt Cain, have the rare talent of allowing your lips to move faster than your brain.” Cain’s face turned an embarrassing shade of red and his eyes dropped to the floor.

“Now, from what I understand, you’re parents are no longer with us?” A small nod answered the question. How Cain’s parents had died was always a mystery. No one seemed to know and those few who did kept the secret locked away. He swore to himself that one day he’d find out.

“Well, I think it best that someone look after you, since apparently no one is.”

“No sir. I think I am fine on my own.” Foreign authority never flew over well with him.

“Nonsense. Now I am willing to give you a room and meals if you keep up my house while I am gone during the day. This includes fixing all that needs fixing and keeping the place clean. Am I understood?”

With much hesitation, Cain nodded.

“Good. Tonight will be your last night on your own. I expect you here by morning. Have a good night Wyatt Cain.”

Cain smiled at the memory. He could still hear the Mystic Man’s booming voice saying his name. Once he moved in with the Mystic Man, things had changed for the better. A much more refined reputation was gained for Cain.

A second smile crept onto his face.

“Wyatt! Come!” The Mystic Man sat at the table.

“Yes.” The quiet, stern demeanor remained the same, even as he developed into a young man.

“My popularity has grown very much, as you probably know. The Queen thinks it best that I have my own protection. She asked me if there was anyone specific that I would like on my detail.”

Cain continued to listen in silence.

“I told her about you Wyatt.”

“Me?”

“I could think of no one better. You live with me and know me best of all. You’re like a son to me Wyatt.” Cain bushed furiously at the compliment. “This job, however, will require some work. In order to be a part of my detail, you need to go through training. First through a form of police training, then a much finer training in order for you to be qualified to be on my detail. You will then have earned the title of Tin Man.”

His stomach flipped around nervously. The responsibility was much greater than Cain could imagine.

“Are you sure you want me? I mean, I could think of plenty of other more capable people to have this job.”

“There you go again, showing off your talent. If you want to play it that way, then it is no longer a question. This is what I want you to do Wyatt. I refuse to take ‘no’ as an answer.”

That second fateful day was one he would never forget. It was the day he got a real chance at life. Someone finally found it in himself or herself to put faith in him. Throughout his career, Cain refused to let the Mystic Man down. After all, the man took the place of his parents, gave him a home and an unforgettable opportunity.

“Thank you,” Cain whispered, almost silently. A single tear made its from his eyes and traveled down the side of his face. Fingers trailed down the side of the casket as he slowly pulled away. A strong urge almost forced him to stay by the casket, just a little longer. But Cain had had enough of. There had been a long list of people requiring long, extensive goodbyes. From many of his colleagues, to Adora and now him. Cain thought it best not to say goodbye this time. This time instead of mourning, he’d move on. The man who was acted as a father to him would live on through Cain, never to be forgotten.

This time, no goodbyes were needed.
